Some of the Moms and Random Acts of Charm

If you've chatted with me, even briefly, in the last 6 months or so, you'll have heard me refer to "The Moms." We're a small group of like-minded souls, who were slightly desperate (may still be?) for adult contact when we met up at our birth class reunion in September. Yes, we all knew each other in "that brief, allusive way" (A.S. Byatt, Possession) from laying on a floor in a classroom of a Group Health clinic and practicing breathing while trying not to FREAK OUT at the concept of pushing for 2+ hours. Long story, but our class leader never showed for the reunion and we sat out with the kids eating salsa and comparing notes when Jen C. suggested we meet and walk around Greenlake. Thus, a support group born. We absorbed Elisabeth's neighbor, Jen M. and seem to have settled at a nice round number of 5. Trust me, 5 similiarly aged babies in one place is more than enough.
Yesterday, Jen C. and Beata and I met in Madison Park (around the corner from the Krauter Cousins) at a cool little cafe that caters to moms and kids. Well, humans and kids. Mostly, it's a giant carpeted pit full of toys. Absolutely necessary since Jen C's boy, Zack, is crawling and climbing and all sorts of things.

I should note, before the arrival of Jen M. and Katelyn, it was all about Camilla and her Boy-Harem.
I always say Camilla is fierce-- which I intend as a compliment. She's a sweet girl, totally devoted to her mom, but I sense that we should not cross her. She can certainly hold her own with the boys.

Alas, Elisabeth and Rudy, Kindra and Elijah and Jen. M and Katelyn were missing from our soiree. Because I'll be away for a bit, I won't have a chance to grab any snaps before May.

"I want the cat!"
"Wake up, Cat Minion! Rise and do my bidding!"

We just didn't have any of these pictures, so here you go.
The friends with him are SuperLamb and Big Toe (Thank you great Auntie Royce Ann and Auntie Caitlyn! And Tabitha for the fabulous crib sheet!)
